Softball Recap: Northwest Snags Eighth Victory in Last Nine Games

Northwest never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the South Gallia Rebels. The Mohawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by eight runs or more this season.

Kamryn Journey made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Northwest got a massive performance out of Kendra Bostwick, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Mollyann Runyon also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Northwest always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .686. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Northwest is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for South Gallia, they dropped their record down to 2-8 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Northwest will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Rebels: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
