Basketball Recap: St. John Tigers vs. Hoisington Cardinals
It was a proper cat-fight when St. John took on Hoisington on Saturday. The St. John Tigers lost to the Hoisington Cardinals on the road by a 55-39 margin. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 48-45 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Mason Martin was his usual excellent self, going 9 for 16 on his way to 25 points in addition to seven steals and six boards for Hoisington. Martin's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamden Tarlton, who posted eight points and nine boards.
This is the second loss in a row for St. John and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Hoisington, the victory also got them back to even at 2-2.
St. John and Larned will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hoisington will take on Sterling in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sterling has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 201 points over their last three games.
