Baseball Game Preview: Dexter Bearcats vs. Notre Dame Bulldogs

Dexter hasn't had much luck against Notre Dame recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Bearcats will square off against the Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. Dexter's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Notre Dame's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Dexter fell victim to Central and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Bearcats were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Notre Dame entered their tilt with Jackson on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Fighting Indians.

Notre Dame picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 6-3-1. As for Dexter, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.

Dexter skirted past Notre Dame 9-8 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Bearcats repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
