Baseball Game Preview: Mangham Dragons vs. Sterlington Panthers

Mangham is 1-8 against Sterlington since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Dragons will look to defend their home field against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m.

Mangham fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against St. Frederick on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Dragons have suffered since March 19, 2024.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sterlington). They were the clear victors by a 16-3 margin over Franklin Parish on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Sterlington's victory was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-5. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Mangham, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-12.
