Emily Berquist made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Berquist was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Mackenzie Moore was a standout: she fired off two home runs, four runs, and five RBI while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025. Kylie Moore was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
Prairie kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Mountain View fell victim to Prairie and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 12-0 to the Falcons. The Thunder have struggled against the Falcons recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Mountain View's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Prairie, their record is now 10-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Prairie has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Mountain View struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Prairie got the 'W' in their previous meeting on Friday against Mountain View by a conclusive 12-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
