Baseball Game Preview: Waupaca Comets vs. Little Chute Mustangs

Waupaca is 2-8 against Little Chute since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Comets will take on the Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with 11 losses in a row, Waupaca turned things around against Amherst on Saturday. They blew past the Falcons 14-3. The Comets' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Little Chute waltzed into their match on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bulldogs, sneaking past 3-1.

Little Chute's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Waupaca, their victory bumped their record up to 4-12.

Waupaca came out on top in a nail-biter against Little Chute in their previous meeting back in April, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Comets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
