Softball Recap: Harpeth Hall Comes Up Short

Harpeth Hall extended their losing streak to five on Thursday, dropping them down to 1-7. They lost 15-0 to the Brentwood Academy Eagles. If the Honeybears were looking for revenge after losing 15-0 to the Eagles when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Brentwood Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 16.6 runs.

For Brentwood Academy's part, Jules Decker and Ashley Hill made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Decker pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Hill pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, Decker went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Hill went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Betsy Gower was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kate Kane, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Looking ahead, Harpeth Hall will face off against Centennial at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Brentwood Academy will be paying especially close attention to the Honeybears' matchup: after the Honeybears face off against the Cougars, they'll take on Brentwood Academy again at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
