Football Recap: Midland Bulldogs vs. Southlake Carroll Dragons
Midland unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were beaten by the Southlake Carroll Dragons 49-0 on Friday. The Bulldogs lost against the Dragons in their previous head to head back in August of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 48-24 score last time.

Southlake Carroll's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brooks Biggers, who rushed for 103 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The Dragons also got help from Blake Gunter, who showed off his sure hands for 88 receiving yards.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Midland will face off against Pebble Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Southlake Carroll, they will challenge Hebron at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 940 yards in their previous games.
