Softball Recap: Vardaman Rams vs. Bruce Trojans
Vardaman took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against Bruce, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Vardaman Rams had just enough and edged out the Bruce Trojans 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rams have posted against the Trojans since March 20, 2021.
Addi Lucius spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and two unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up six Ks. She also tossed four walks, marking her first of the season.
On the hitting side, Vardaman let Maggie Edmondson and Haley Parker run wild.
