Preview: Boyd County vs. Niobrara/Verdigre
On Friday Boyd County take on Niobrara/Verdigre at 7:00 PM. Both of those teams will be looking for a pick-me-up after considerable defeats in their previous games.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 2-48, which was the final score in Boyd County's tilt against North Central last Friday. Boyd County were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-40.
Meanwhile, there's no need to mince words: Niobrara/Verdigre lost to Creighton, and they lost bad. The score wound up at 12-72. Niobrara/Verdigre were down by 12-66 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
With both teams hitting sour notes in their previous games, they will no doubt be looking to produce a better outcome in this one. The Boyd County defense got after the quarterback against North Central to the tune of five sacks, so Niobrara/Verdigre's offensive line better have put in some good practice this past week in preparation for the matchup.
