Basketball Recap: Sherman Indian Takes a Loss

Sherman Indian and South El Monte squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Sherman Indian had to settle for second. They took a hard 66-50 fall against the South El Monte Eagles.

South El Monte found their leader in sophomore Eli Lopez, who went 8-for-11 on his way to 20 points and six steals. With that strong performance, Lopez is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. Nathan Oros was another key player, going 6-for-9 to rack up 14 points.

Sherman Indian's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for South El Monte, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-15 record this season.

Sherman Indian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South El Monte, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 49-29 win against Orange on the 14th.
