Preview: Glens Falls Indians vs. Queensbury Spartans
Glens Falls is 0-10 against Queensbury since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Glens Falls Indians' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Queensbury Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on January 22nd. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Glens Falls posted their biggest win since December 21, 2023 on Thursday. Everything went their way against Schuylerville as Glens Falls made off with a 55-31 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Glens Falls has posted against Schuylerville since January 30, 2017.
Glens Falls' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Frances McTiernan led the charge by scoring 17 points. That's the first time this season that McTiernan scored 15 or more points. Carolyn Lunt was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Meanwhile, Queensbury had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.1 points), and they went ahead and made it ten on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 61-7 win over Johnstown on the road. With Queensbury ahead 29-2 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Glens Falls has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Queensbury, they pushed their record up to 11-1 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Glens Falls lost to Queensbury on the road by a decisive 60-46 margin in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Glens Falls avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
