Basketball Recap: Sherwood Comes Up Short

Sherwood suffered their biggest defeat since January 17th on Tuesday. They lost 60-36 to the McMinnville Grizzlies. While losing is never fun, the Bowmen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 98th, while the Grizzlies are ranked 17th).

Sherwood's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-12. As for McMinnville, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-5.

Coming up, Sherwood will square off against Century at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Century's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games. As for McMinnville, they will challenge Newberg at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. McMinnville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Newberg likes a good challenge.
