Basketball Recap: Auburn Comes Up Short

Auburn and Central squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Auburn had to settle for second. They lost to the Central Red Devils on the road by a 59-42 margin. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Red Devils recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

When it comes to explaining why Auburn lost, don't look at Tabari Allen. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 23 points and ten boards. Thanks to that strong game, Allen now owns an excellent 45.6% shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Karl Lindsey, who posted six points.

Auburn's loss dropped their record down to 22-10. As for Central, the win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 29-4.

Auburn does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Central, they will square off against Hoover at 7:00 p.m. on February 27th. Central knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 33 contests -- so hopefully Hoover likes a good challenge.
