Sand Rock got a massive performance out of Lathan Amos, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 5-for-5. Those four runs gave Amos a new career-high. Cam Gifford was another key player, going a perfect 5-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles.
Sand Rock was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .647. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Sand Rock's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-13. As for Gaston, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.
