Volleyball Recap: Wimberley's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to 17

Wimberley had already won 16 in a row and they went ahead and made it 17 on Friday. They came out on top against the Johnson City Eagles by a score of 3-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 back in August.

Wimberley walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). The final score came out to 25-17, 25-14, 20-25, 25-17.

Lilli Sandoval paced Wimberley's offense, picking up 12 kills. Sandoval got some help from Skylar Herring and her 33 assists.

Wimberley's win bumped their record up to 31-5. As for Johnson City, they moved to 23-9 with that defeat, which also ended their 13-game winning streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wimberley will host Long Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The contest will give the Texans their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Johnson City, they will face off against Veterans Memorial at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
