Basketball Game Preview: Smoky Hill Buffaloes vs. Adams City Eagles + How To Watch

The Smoky Hill Buffaloes will square off against the Adams City Eagles at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Smoky Hill has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games.

Smoky Hill is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed past Gateway to the tune of 69-7 on Thursday. With that win, the Buffaloes brought their scoring average up to 51.3 points per game.

Ari Boyd was her usual excellent self, putting up 31 points. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Smoky Hill's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Leilani Gordon, who posted 17 points.

Meanwhile, Adams City hadn't done well against Pomona recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 52-28 margin over the Panthers. The Eagles not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since January 18th (when they won 37-12).

Smoky Hill better keep an eye on Arianna Blue. She was instrumental in Adams City's win, dropping a double-double with 15 points and ten boards. Blue has been hot, having also posted four or more steals the last eight times she's played. Kendra Roberson was another key player, dropping a double-double with 11 points and ten rebounds.

Adams City smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Smoky Hill's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Adams City, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Everything came up roses for Smoky Hill against Adams City when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 45-8 victory. Will the Buffaloes repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
