Basketball Game Preview: Northland Vikings vs. Grand River Academy

The Northland Vikings will square off against Grand River Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Northland has 11 straight victories, Grand River Academy has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Saturday, Northland beat Africentric Early College 61-48.

Meanwhile, Grand River Academy lost to Lake Ridge Academy on the road by a 74-57 margin two weeks ago.

Northland pushed their record up to 17-3 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.6 points over those games. As for Grand River Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Northland came up short against Grand River Academy when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 57-53. Can Northland avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
