Basketball Recap: Caleb Short Key Part of a Team Effort in Red Devils Win

Verbena was handed a 44-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Notasulga Blue Devils, sneaking past 45-43. This was a revenge game for the Red Devils: when they faced off against the Blue Devils back in January, they had to take a 62-40 loss.

Verbena's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Caleb Short, who posted 12 points along with five boards and three steals. Short is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 18 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxson Kelley, who went 6 of 12 en route to 13 points and seven rebounds.

Verbena's record now sits at 7-13. As for Notasulga, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-12.

Verbena has already played their next matchup, a 58-54 defeat against Autauga Academy on the 4th. Notasulga does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
