Holden is a perfect 8-0 against Independence since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Holden Rockets will look to defend their home field against the Independence Tigers at 12:30 p.m. Holden is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.

If Holden beats Independence with 11 runs on Saturday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Holden didn't even let Maurepas on the board on Monday, marking Holden's second-straight 11-0 shutout. The Rockets haven't had any issues with the Wolves recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Caden Rivett was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Kyler Joiner, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Meanwhile, Independence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Albany.

Independence's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Holden, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Everything went Holden's way against Independence when the teams last played back in March of 2019, as Holden made off with a 17-2 victory. Will Holden repeat their success, or does Independence have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
