Desert Oasis extended their winning streak to 11 games thanks to a huge performance from Akemi Higa. The Desert Oasis Diamondbacks strolled past the Liberty Patriots with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 41-26 thanks in part to Higa, who threw for 322 yards and six touchdowns while completing 81.8% of her passes, and also rushed for 73 yards on only nine carries. She is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as she's now passed for four or more in the last 12 games she's played.

Akiko Higa was Akemi's top target, picking up 147 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Akiko showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 50 yards.

Desert Oasis' defense made their presence known, laying out Kaylie Phillips. three times. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Kaaliyah Robinson. Those three sacks gave her a new career-high.

When it comes to explaining why Liberty lost, don't look at Phillips. Despite the final result, she rushed for 91 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 272 yards and two touchdowns. 81 of those passing yards were hauled in by Sheaza Lopes.

Desert Oasis pushed their record up to 15-2 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.2 points. As for Liberty, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-4.

Desert Oasis is taking a road trip to face off against Bishop Gorman at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Desert Oasis' favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last 13 games. As for Liberty, they will welcome Centennial at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Liberty is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 40.6 points per game this season.
