Basketball Game Preview: Huntsville Hornets vs. Lake Creek Lions

The Huntsville Hornets will venture away from home to square off against the Lake Creek Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Huntsville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten contests -- so hopefully Lake Creek likes a good challenge.

Huntsville is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 98-62 win over Rudder. Given the Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 217th, while the Rangers are ranked 613th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Montgomery typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Lake Creek proved too difficult a challenge. They secured a 54-49 W over the Bears. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Bears recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Huntsville is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points over those games. As for Lake Creek, they now have a winning record of 17-16.

Huntsville strolled past Lake Creek in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 69-53. The rematch might be a little tougher for Huntsville since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
