Volleyball Recap: Thompson Valley's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday + How To Watch

If Thompson Valley was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Roosevelt last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles fell 3-1 to the Timnath Cubs on Tuesday. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cubs earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

The final score came out to 25-18, 9-25, 25-19, 25-12.

Despite the loss, Thompson Valley saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Payton Reichelderfer had 13 digs and five assists.

Timnath's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brynleigh Firks led the charge by getting ten digs and two assists. Lily McGill also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

With the defeat, Thompson Valley broke their four-match winning streak and moved their record to 12-6. As for Timnath, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 14-7.

Thompson Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Mountain View on the 29th. As for Timnath, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Fort Collins on the 29th.
