Baseball Game Preview: Northwest Cabarrus Trojans vs. Carson Cougars

The Northwest Cabarrus Trojans will head out on the road to take on the Carson Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northwest Cabarrus is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.

Northwest Cabarrus' tournament run continued when they took on South Rowan on Saturday. Northwest Cabarrus lost 10-2 to South Rowan.

Northwest Cabarrus saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michael Cagiano, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. That's the most hits Cagiano has posted since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Carson didn't have quite enough to beat South Rowan on Friday and fell 5-4. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Carson's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Northwest Cabarrus, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.

Northwest Cabarrus came out on top in a nail-biter against Carson in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Northwest Cabarrus since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
