Basketball Recap: DSST: Montview Picks Up Second Consecutive Win

If DMLK wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played DSST: Montview, they should've done a better job of containing Sa'Veyah Rogers. The Knights blew past the Panthers 48-25 on Thursday for which the team can thank Rogers, who dropped a double-double with 25 points and ten boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of DSST: Montview's points.

Neiveen Torres was another key player, putting up four points and seven steals. She is becoming a predictor of DSST: Montview's success: when she posts at least three steals the team is undefeated (and 4-8 when she doesn't).

Despite the loss, DMLK saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kenzie Daughty dropped a double-double with ten points and 11 rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for DSST: Montview and bumps their season record up to 7-8. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 54 points in those games. As for DMLK, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.

DSST: Montview wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 50-17 win against KIPP Denver Collegiate on the 6th. As for DMLK, they have also already played their next game, a 29-23 defeat against Rocky Mountain Prep SMART on the 6th.
