Preview: Dunbar Poets vs. Forest Park Foresters
Dunbar is 3-0 against Forest Park since February of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Dunbar Poets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Forest Park Foresters at 5:15 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Maryland (Dunbar is ranked 71st, while Forest Park is ranked 63rd).
Last Thursday, Dunbar was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 38-33 to Carver Vo-Tech. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Dunbar has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Forest Park scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Douglass 86-39 at home. Forest Park has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 36 points or more this season.
Dunbar's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Forest Park, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-4.
Dunbar didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Forest Park in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 55-51 victory. Will Dunbar repeat their success, or does Forest Park have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
