Baseball Recap: Oxford Wins Going Away Against South Haven

Oxford won the last time they faced South Haven and things went their way on Friday too. The Wildcats were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the Cardinals. Considering the Wildcats have won ten matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Connor Commerford was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Pearson Rush, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double.

Oxford has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for South Haven, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.

As of now, neither Oxford nor the Cardinals have any future games scheduled.
