Softball Recap: Pineville Gets the Win

Pineville lost to Model back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Mountain Lions came out on top against the Patriots by a score of 6-1.

Rachel Howard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Addison Slone and Rayanna Maidon did most of the damage at the plate: Slone went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double, while Maidon went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Pineville's win bumped their record up to 8-5-1. As for Model, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-3.

Coming up, Pineville will host Clay County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Model, they will be playing at home against Lee County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
