Basketball Game Preview: Del Norte Nighthawks vs. Cypress Centurions

The Del Norte Nighthawks will take on the Cypress Centurions in a tournament on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Del Norte is headed into the match having just posted their closest win since January 31st on Saturday. They had just enough and edged Viewmont out 61-58. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Nighthawks' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 765th in California, while the Vikings are ranked 60th in Utah).

Meanwhile, Cypress came up short against San Juan Hills on Saturday and fell 79-66. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (61), the Centurions still had to take the loss.

Cypress' loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Del Norte, their win bumped their record up to 5-8.
