Recap: Caldera vs. Nelson
If Caldera were riding high off their 67-44 takedown of the Madras White Buffaloes on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Caldera was the victim of a rough 84-58 loss at the hands of Nelson on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Nelson was led to victory by Braylon Gaines and Sam Lewis. Gaines scored 20 points along with 8 rebounds, while Lewis scored 23 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Lewis has scored at least 25% of Nelson's points. Lukas Jordan was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 3 steals.
Caldera now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Nelson, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Caldera will head out on the road to face off against Crook County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Nelson, they will be playing at home against Oregon City at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Oregon City has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
