Softball Recap: Klein Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Klein, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Magnolia Bulldogs 3-2.

Madilyn Schultz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Klein let Mikayla Holcomb and Megan Meinhardt run wild. Holcomb scored a run while going 1-for-2, while Meinhardt scored a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Meinhardt a new career-high in doubles (two).

Klein's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Magnolia, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.

Coming up, Klein will square off against Klein Cain at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Magnolia, they will head out to face off against Klein Oak at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
