Baseball Recap: McKean Highlanders vs. Woodbridge Raiders

McKean had lost 11 straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 3-13 to make it 12. They took an 11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Woodbridge Raiders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Highlanders of the 10-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

McKean saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Charlie Diaz, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one run. Another was Ryan Williams, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

As for Woodbridge, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-7. With that win, they brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

On Woodbridge's side, they let CJ Walsch and Daulton McCabe run wild. Walsch went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while McCabe got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double. Woodbridge is undefeated when Walsch posts two or more runs, but 4-7 otherwise. Logan Sears also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McKean will take on Odyssey Charter at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Woodbridge, they will face off against Hodgson Vo-Tech at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
