Acalanes and Saint Francis squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Acalanes had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Lancers by a score of 2-0. The Dons' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Austin McMannamon was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

Acalanes' defeat dropped their record down to 18-11-1. As for Saint Francis, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-10 record this season.

Acalanes does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Saint Francis, they will venture away from home to challenge Yuba City at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Lancers 2.8, the Honkers 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
