Softball Recap: Baldwin County Triumphs

While Baldwin County's victory against Foley wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers had just enough and edged out the Lions 2-0. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won seven in a row.

Foley's batters probably weren't too happy with Julianna Thompson, who pitched a no hitter (she gave up two walks). Thompson has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lauren Jerkins, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and one run. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nassar Brooks, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Baldwin County's record is now 12-6. As for Foley, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 13-8 record.

Looking ahead, Baldwin County will take on Fairhope at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Foley, they will square off against Flomaton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hurricanes have averaged an impressive 9.8 runs per game this season.
