Baseball Recap: Alexander Takes a Loss

Alexander extended their losing streak to eight on Monday, dropping their season record down to 3-8 in the process. They lost 13-7 to the Byron-Bergen Bees. Trojans fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Bees since on Monday.

As for Byron-Bergen, their victory bumped their record up to 6-8. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Byron-Bergen's part, they got a massive performance out of Jeremiah Romero, who went 3-for-4 with five stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI Romero has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Martin McConnell, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Coming up, Alexander will host Kendall at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Trojans surely won't give up without a fight. As for Byron-Bergen, they have already played their next match, an 8-7 victory against Attica on the 20th.
