Basketball Recap: Desert Wins Going Away Against Boron

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Desert on Friday. They blew past the Boron Bobcats 61-37. The Scorpions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 24 points or more this season.

Boron's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Geordyn Rundblade, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds, and Moses Garcia, who posted eight points in addition to ten boards and four steals. That's the most points Rundblade has posted since back in November of 2024. Blake Caillier also deserves some recognition as he posted his first blocks of the season.

Desert has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points per game. As for Boron, they dropped their record down to 6-11 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Desert didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 78-44 loss against California City on the 28th. Boron has also already played their next game, a 45-41 win against Kern Valley on the 28th.
