Soccer Game Preview: Homestead vs. Coral Gables

The Homestead Broncos and the Coral Gables Cavaliers will compete for holiday cheer at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Homestead is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.3 goals per game this season.

Homestead is headed into the match without a loss and will look to keep things rolling. They and Keys Gate finished up their game with a 2-2 draw on Wednesday.

Schleiden Francois was the only thing that stood between Homestead and a shutout considering he scored both of Homestead's goals, bringing his season total up to eight goals.

Meanwhile, Coral Gables gave up the first goal on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They skirted past Miami Beach 2-1. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Cavaliers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while the Hi-Tides are ranked 14th).

Coral Gables now has a winning record of 5-4. Homestead's draw makes their record 5-0-3 this season.

Homestead might still be hurting after the 6-0 loss they got from Coral Gables in their previous matchup back in December of 2021. Can Homestead avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
