Basketball Recap: Golden Gate Comes Up Short

Golden Gate was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 63-47 to the Barron Collier Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 465th, while the Cougars are ranked 171st).

When it comes to explaining why Golden Gate lost, don't look at Kenson St.Fort. Despite the final result, he posted 13 points. Another player making a difference was Sam Powell, who scored ten points and six rebounds.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Barron Collier to victory, but perhaps none more so than Spencer Clayton, who earned 12 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Olander, who put up 14 points and five rebounds.

Golden Gate's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Barron Collier, they pushed their record up to 12-4 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season.

Golden Gate didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-51 victory against Aubrey Rogers on the 9th. As for Barron Collier, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 69-56 win against Immokalee on the 9th.
