Football Recap: San Gorgonio Spartans vs. Arlington Lions

San Gorgonio waltzed into their contest on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They strolled past the Arlington Lions with points to spare, taking the game 32-14. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 244th, while the Lions are ranked 497th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jazmin Benson was her usual excellent self, rushing for 64 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, while also throwing for 121 yards on 15 of 23 attempts. San Gorgonio's win bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Arlington, they dropped their record down to 1-16 with the defeat, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

San Gorgonio wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 31-6 loss against Canyon Springs on the 15th. Arlington has also already played their next match, a 52-20 defeat against Hillcrest on the 15th.
