Basketball Recap: Quantico Takes a Loss

If Quantico was feeling good fresh off their 65-1 takedown of Wakefield Country Day on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Warriors took a 53-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fredericksburg Academy Falcons on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Falcons: they've now lost six in a row.

Despite the defeat, Quantico saw an underclassman step up: freshman Ra'Mya Antenor shot 64% from the field to rack up 20 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Antenor has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jill Pattay, who posted 11 points.

Quantico's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Fredericksburg Academy, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4.

Coming up, Quantico will venture away from home to take on Wakefield School at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fredericksburg Academy, they and Trinity Christian will face off at 4:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played.
