Baseball Recap: Seattle Academy Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Nathan Hale, Seattle Academy was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top against the Mercer Island Islanders by a score of 10-7. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Cardinals considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Dashiell Story was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Story was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and one double. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Eli Herst, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Seattle Academy is undefeated when Herst posts two or more runs, but 7-8-2 otherwise. Chase Davidson was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Seattle Academy lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Seattle Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8-2 record this season. As for Mercer Island, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-7 record this season.
