Soccer Game Preview: Stansbury vs. Green Canyon

The Stansbury Stallions will square off against the Green Canyon Wolves at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Stansbury is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Pine View. The win made it back-to-back victories for Stansbury.

Skyler Erickson and Caden Latford scored all three of Stansbury's goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

Meanwhile, Green Canyon narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past West Field 2-1. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Green Canyon's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Utah soccer rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while West Field are ranked 88th).

Green Canyon is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Stansbury, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7.

Stansbury came up short against Green Canyon in their previous matchup back in March of 2019, falling 2-0. Can the Stallions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
