Football Recap: Palo Verde Valley Falls to St. Bernard in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Palo Verde Valley had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 27-16 to the St. Bernard Vikings. Despite 123 more yards than the Vikings, the Yellow Jackets couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

When it comes to explaining why Palo Verde Valley lost, don't look at Kenneth Salazar. Despite the final result, he rushed for 100 yards and two TDs on only six carries. Salazar's longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards. Palo Verde Valley also got a significant boost from Christian Richards, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 93 yards.

Jayden Armstrong had an outrageously good game for St. Bernard as he rushed for 133 yards and one score on only 13 carries, and also picked up 60 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Palo Verde Valley didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 19-6 defeat against Shadow Hills on the 29th. As for St. Bernard, they have also already played their next contest, a 44-13 victory against Littlerock on the 29th.
