Soccer Game Preview: Randleman vs. Uwharrie Charter Academy

The Randleman Tigers will challenge the Uwharrie Charter Academy Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Randleman will be strutting in after a victory while Uwharrie Charter Academy will be coming in after a defeat.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Randleman and Southwestern Randolph meet (five straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. Randleman sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over Southwestern Randolph. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Randleman considering their one-goal performance the game before.

Meanwhile, Uwharrie Charter Academy fell victim to Richmond and their airtight defense on Friday. They fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 1-0. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Uwharrie Charter Academy came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 81st, while Richmond are ranked 253rd).

Randleman's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-4. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those three contests. As for Uwharrie Charter Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Randleman suffered a grim 8-1 defeat to Uwharrie Charter Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Randleman avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
