Baseball Game Preview: Vernon Lions vs. City View Mustangs

Vernon is on a seven-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and City View a seven-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Vernon Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the City View Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

It was a proper cat-fight when Vernon duked it out with Henrietta on Friday. Vernon fell just short of Henrietta by a score of 5-4.

Ryan Fieldhouse was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February.

Meanwhile, City View came up short against Holliday on Friday, falling 14-4.

Colton Barnett made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Deaken Mueller, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

City View's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Vernon, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-13.

Vernon took their victory against City View in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 9-3. Will Vernon repeat their success, or does City View has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
