Baseball Recap: Altoona Takes a Loss

Altoona lost against Mifflin County back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mountain Lions took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Huskies. The matchup marked the Mountain Lions' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Altoona saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Staines, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Aaron Smearman also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Altoona's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Mifflin County, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Altoona will be playing at home against Cumberland Valley at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games the Eagles have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Mifflin County, they will venture away from home to take on Chambersburg at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Huskies are facing the Trojans at the right time seeing as the Trojans are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
