Softball Recap: Marshall Comes Up Short

Marshall was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brennan Bears. That's two games in a row now that the Rams have lost by exactly three runs.

Haley Herrera made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-3. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times she's played.

Marshall's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Brennan, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Marshall will challenge rival O'Connor at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Brennan is set to take on their familiar foe Holmes at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
