Baseball Recap: Oak Hill Has No Trouble Against Western

After only two runs in their last contest, Oak Hill made sure to put some runs up on the board against Western on Thursday. The Oaks were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Indians. The Oaks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by seven runs or more this season.

Jesse Zachariah made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Zachariah was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one run. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Eddie Abele, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Layne Swingle was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Oak Hill kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Oak Hill has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Western, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-9.

Coming up, Oak Hill will welcome Northwest at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Western does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
