Volleyball Recap: Pine Crest Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Isabella Collado and Mia Gold

If Pine Crest was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of St. John Paul II Academy last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers fell just short of the North Broward Prep Eagles by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Pine Crest sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 25-23, 12-25, 25-10, 15-25, 15-11.

Pine Crest's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Mia Gold, who had 23 kills, eight digs, and three aces, and Isabella Collado, who had 12 digs and one block. Gold has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 27 times she's played. Kaylee Foreman was another key player, getting 15 digs and two assists.

Emma Luehrs went supernova For North Broward Prep., getting 43 assists and nine digs.

Pine Crest now has a losing record of 6-7. As for North Broward Prep, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

Pine Crest wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Cypress Bay on the 19th. As for North Broward Prep, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against South Broward on the 19th.
