Softball Recap: State College Takes a Loss

After flying high against Altoona last Thursday, State College came back down to earth. The Little Lions came up short against the Chambersburg Trojans on Wednesday, falling 9-2. The Little Lions haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Jessica Hawbaker was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

State College's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Chambersburg, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 11-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. State College will head out to square off against Mifflin County at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Chambersburg, they will challenge Greencastle-Antrim at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans will need to watch out since the Blue Devils have now posted at least ten runs in their last four games.
